Prostate Surgery (TURP) प्रोस्टेट/ पुरुषग्रन्थीको उपचार

Frequently Asked Questions
When Will My Urination Improve?
Many patients notice a significant improvement in urinary flow soon after the procedure.

Will I have a scar?
No. TURP is performed through the natural urinary passage, so there is no external surgical incision.

Why is a catheter needed?
The catheter allows urine to drain while the prostate area heals and helps flush out blood or small clots from the bladder. Catheter is usually placed for 5-7 days after surgery

Can the prostate grow again after TURP?
The tissue removed during TURP generally does not grow back in the same way. However, remaining prostate tissue can enlarge over time, and a small number of patients may require further treatment.

Can I return to normal life after TURP?
Yes. After recovery, most men can return to their normal daily activities.

Will I have sexual problem after TURP?
TURP doesn't cause sexual problem. However, retrograde ejaculation is common. This means that during orgasm, semen may flow backward into the bladder instead of coming out through the penis. You may therefore experience a "dry orgasm."

Will TURP cure prostate cancer?
No. TURP is primarily a treatment for urinary obstruction caused by benign prostate enlargement (BPH). It is not a definitive treatment for prostate cancer.
